Greetings, Coffee Crew!
We’re going to have some fun with a new coffee blend created as an anniversary coffee for Fieldhead’s. We will include in your next orders a sample of this coffee AND it will be in packages with our original bag labels.
We can celebrate Fieldhead’s anniversary together with our blend “Remember When” AND a peek back in time to our first logo and labels. We have come a long way with improving our logo and labels, yet these are fun and a reminder to “remember when”. We’ll offer this new coffee in our old packaging for the next couple of weeks, so have fun with your retail sales. We can all celebrate where we have been and where we are going.
Remember When is a decadent coffee that is creamy and rich with a lingering finish. This is an Indonesian blend that is great with a steak, chocolate or on its own.
The coffeehouse is a third place. First place is home, second place is work, and a cultural place serving as a center for social interaction is a third place. Your coffee van, kiosk, or classy café all qualify as a third place. You are a focal place for customers looking for a fabulous cup of coffee, friendly smile, and great customer service. People have the need to interact as a basic human instinct. The opportunities for us are endless to fill this basic need. A simple bulletin board with local events, jobs corner, or other networking could be enough to provide for our customers.
There are many factors in the success of a coffee business. Three big ones include positive cash flow and proper funding, efficient and knowledgeable management, and aggressive sales by a staff with an entrepreneurial spirit and good incentives. Sounds basic to most well run businesses.

Remember this is the time of year for what I call the “cash and calories slump”. After the holidays people are watching their calorie intake and waiting for the credit card bills to arrive. I like to plan deep cleaning, special projects, and if possible a chance to catch your breath after the busy retail season.
Are you interested in expanding your coffee business? Look for locations where another coffee shop has been and closed. Starbucks has closed shops, leaving in place a great footprint for an independent to follow. Closed restaurants also leave behind a facility that qualifies with the local health department to pass regulations.
Drink of the Day:
Choco Tea – Steam milk and water together, add chocolate syrup and 1 tbsp. sugar, stir to dissolve. Add a peppermint tea bag and steep for 5 minutes. Yum, yum…
Make it a great week!
