Hello Coffee Drinkers,
I hope each of you is enjoying a safe holiday weekend. What a great time for an iced mocha or blended fruit smoothie. Yum!
My Peggy Sue’s Espresso ™ has received lots of attention lately (and all the variations of this popular blend) and I would like to chat about our Fieldhead’s Signature Espresso. I am frequently asked what is my favorite coffee or espresso. I truly enjoy each one at different times or occasions.
The Fieldhead’s Espresso is my “medium” espresso; not too bold, not too mild. It is medium bodied, smooth, simple, and sweet. Chocolate notes, floral aroma, and caramel and cedar finish make this a tasty espresso as a straight shot or in a latte’. To compare, the Peggy Sue’s Espresso is milder and the European Espresso is darker and bold. Several customers offer one espresso in their drinks and another espresso by the bag. Good thinking. J
Let’s get back to basics and talk about drink making. A simple latte’ or cappuccino would be assembled by first putting the flavoring in the cup, then the espresso shots, followed by the steamed milk and foam.
For lattes with fruit syrups, be sure to mix the syrup with cold milk prior to adding anything hot so the syrup does not curdle.
Fun drinks for your guests include:
Root beer Float - Sarsaparilla syrup, club soda, ½ & ½ topped with whipped cream
Peaches & Cream – Peach syrup, club soda, ½ & ½ topped with whipped cream
These are simple to prepare and easy to do at home.
Happy 4th of July!!!
Peggy Sue Ennenga
