Big Mountain Blend

Greetings Coffee Crew ~~

Have you tried our Big Mountain Blend?  The blend of Ethiopian coffees are smoothed out with a Central American coffee.  In the cup, the lemon notes, heavy body, and chocolate mouth feel are refreshing.  Once again, here is a coffee that is terrific hot or brew it double strength for an equally tasty iced coffee.  Try it with an oatmeal/raisin/chocolate chip cookie for an enjoyable coffee break.

Today’s marketing tips:

1.        I read in the paper today an ad from a large local nursery/floral shop “buy a plant as a thank you gift for your host/hostess while you are here on vacation”.  Great idea!  I have customers who give coffee instead of flowers for families who lose a loved one.  These gifts are well received because families typically have lots of company during these difficult times.    Why not bring coffee as a hostess gift when you are visiting?  I will be driving off with lots of coffee as I go on my trip to visit family and friends.  This is a great time of year to promote your whole bean sales with your customers and an opportunity to gain a new market share.

2.       I love another promotion by one of our customers.  They are offering ½ price drinks for one day to teachers in recognition of their dedication.  Great idea!  You could do this with any target market or cause.  I’d love to hear how this goes, Shevlins in New York.  J

3.       Another customer has taped the Coffee Review rating on the back of their espresso machine for customers to read while they wait for their drinks to be prepared.  Great idea!  They will expect only the best then. 

Staffing during the summer months and holidays can be a positive when you allow baristas to sign up for holidays.  Then it is their choice to be on duty AND they make great tips because customers are grateful that you are open for business.

Thought for the week:  Let’s consider it a privilege to be invited into the “coffee time” our customers, friends, and family enjoy each day.  Coffee is a special beverage that brings people together.
