Greetings, Coffee Drinkers ~~
I am frequently asked “what is my favorite coffee?” My typical response is that it depends. Seriously. Is it morning and I need some caffeine to become more alert, bolder for lunch, or mild for dessert? I truly don’t have one favorite. That would be like asking “which of my children is my favorite?”
The last few days I have chosen Montana Mystery Decaf for my morning brew. It is medium bodied, balanced (not too heavy or bright), and is simply a good cup of coffee that is understated. My beans are nearly a month old, so the peanut aroma is unmistakable and the chocolate finish is distinct. This coffee pairs well with most foods and is very similar to the Dunkin’ Donuts coffee. I didn’t do that on purpose, just found out after I created the blend.
Our United Way blend, “Hearts ‘n’ Hands” is already a hit with those who have tried it. This was the only coffee we offered at the Farmer’s Market last Saturday. We nearly sold out all the brewed coffee and several bags of the whole bean coffee. Our customers appreciate the donation, so I recommend you do something similar or with this coffee in your shops. Just pick an organization you are passionate about.
1. Do you have something fun planned for Labor Day weekend? A small town near us is having a Poker Walk. The city streets will be blocked to vehicles and open to walkers going to participating retailers and restaurants. What a fun idea! The weather is great and it is an opportunity for one last sales event of the summer. You could do this in your neighborhood, street, or block without stopping traffic.
2. Are you thinking about the holidays and how you will capture some of the revenue from shoppers? Consider your current inventory, what you would like to have on hand, and special gift packages.
3. I was asked this week whether we offer 2 oz portion packs. This is a well kept secret. Lol We will do this for you if you are interested in putting together gift packages. We will also do 8 oz bags for the holidays for your convenience in putting together gift packages.
a. We will offer 2 oz portion packs of ground coffee in multiples of 25. Not all coffees will be available in portion packs, so ask about pricing and available coffees. Please allow 2 weeks for processing these orders. There is a lot of labor involved, so we need the time for the entire process. My suggestion is to place your orders well in advance and provide your requested date for receiving the shipments so we can put you on the schedule.
b. The 8 oz and 2 oz bags will be available until December 15, 2009.
4. Are you interested in Fieldhead’s Coffee mugs? If so, do you prefer travel or ceramic mugs? Please let Tanya or me know because we will place an order soon to insure delivery for your holiday sales.
I had the pleasure of ordering a cappuccino and special dessert crepe’ from one of our customers recently. I stood there reading the menu with a blank look on my face; much like our coffee customers read the coffee menu. Thankfully, I saw a crepe’ that included ingredients I enjoy. Then the owner suggested something special for me. Wow! This strawberry, huckleberry, & nutella crepe’ was to die for! Just think how happy your customers are when you suggest a drink that you know they will love based on questions you ask. Get to know your flavors and combinations so you can create that WOW drink for your customers. They will appreciate your customer service and know that you care about them.
Make it a fabulous week!
